L BECAUSE OF CONSTRAINTS IMPOSED BY LIMITED FUNDING, NSF HAS
DECIDED AT THIS TIME NOT TO SUPPORT TRANSFER OF ANY NEUTRON
MONITOR EQUIPMENT FROM GOOSE BAY OR ALERT TO KULA, HAWAII,

NOR TO SUPPORT OPERATION OF THE SMALL STATION WHICH IS CURRENTLY
LOCATED THERE. ACCEPTABLE, LOWER COST ALTERNATIVES EXIST AT
THE PRESENT TIME.

2. OUR CONCERN NOW IS TO AID THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS
( UTD) TO EXPEDITIOUSLY TRANSFER TO FORT CHURCHILL STATION TO
THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT. BY LETTER, DATED 2 APRIL , UTD HAS
ALREADY ASKED SCIENTIFIC ATTACHE HUDSON FOR ASSISTANCE IN THIS
